ODU gets grant to promote ties with Europe

NORFOLK

Old Dominion University has won a $157,000 grant from the European Union aimed at fostering ties between Hampton Roads and Europe.

The money will fund ACCESSEU, an 18-month project led by ODU's graduate programs in international studies and business administration.

The initiative will offer educational activities for high school, college and graduate students in European history, politics and government, and a model Europe simulation exercise in cooperation with other universities in the region.

There also are plans to arrange study-abroad visits to EU headquarters in Brussels and several Hampton Roads sister cities in Europe.
