Many BYU students hunger for the opportunity to study abroad but don't know how to get started or how to fit it in their graduation map. However, now is their chance to find out.

Today, all study abroad, field study, international internship and direct enrollment programs will be featured in the International Studies Program Fair from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Marigold Quad, east of the Kennedy Center, reports the program's website.

During the fair, students will have an opportunity to meet the directors, ask questions about the specifics of each program and learn what classes study abroad has to offer.

In a news release, T. Lynn Elliott, director of the ISP program, said students who have participated in the study abroad program strengthen their resumes for graduate school applications and provide relevant experience for future job offers.

"For most students, their international experience leads to greater graduate school or career potential," Elliot said.

For students or faculty that have further questions, the ISP administrative office is located in room 204 of the Herald R. Clark Building. Students who are interested in an international experience are encouraged to sign up early because spots are limited.

Aubrianne Hilton, 23, a senior majoring in education, did a study abroad to Jerusalem in winter 2009.

"[My participation in the program] will always get me in the door for an interview," Hilton said.

"People want to see individuals who are well rounded," she said. "It shows determination and perseverance. Every study abroad will help with that."

The fair provides free food, a raffle for prizes and plenty of music.
