Sanborn Guest Speaker At Foreign Affairs Luncheon Group

The public is invited to a presentation by Dr. Howard B. Sanborn, Assistant Professor of International Studies, V.M.I. on Thursday, October 28 at 12:00 Noon. The venue is the Marshall Foundation, VMI Parade, Lexington.

The recipient of a B.A. from Washington and Lee, and a doctorate from the University of Iowa, Dr. Sanborn spent last summer in China, where he helped guide V.M.I. cadets through Shanghai, Bejing, and Xi'an. He then traveled to Taiwan for field studies. His current research projects include an assessment of democratic participation in Taiwan. His presentation is titled "Open and Closed: The Prospects for Democracy in Taiwan and China."
