U.N. seminar to focus on poverty, hunger

The Denver Center for International Studies will host the United Nations Seminar eighth annual Discussion Series on "Millennium Development Goal No. 1: Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger" from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at 574 W. Sixth Ave.

The keynote speaker is Edward Elmendorf, executive director of the United Nations Association of the USA. Other sponsors include the League of Women Voters of Colorado, Asian Chamber of Commerce, Church and Society Network and the University of Colorado Denver's political science department.

The cost, including lunch, is $40 per adult and $5 per student. To register, or for more information, call 303-756-0842.
