Study Programs Fair offers info, prizes Posted: 18 Jan 2011 09:05 PM PST The Kennedy Center for International Studies will award one BYU student with free international airfare as part of the Study Programs Fair to be held in the HRCB on Thursday. Each year the Kennedy Center hosts two separate study program fairs to provide interested students with information regarding international programs offered through BYU. Thursday's fair, which runs from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., will also include a raffle of prizes including free international airfare for one student participating in an international study program. Students must be present to win the raffle, but prizes will be awarded every half hour during the fair. Lynn Elliot, director of International Study Programs in the Kennedy Center for International Studies, believes the fair will be a great source of information for anyone considering studying internationally. "The fair is a great chance to see in one place the kind of international offerings that BYU has to offer," Elliot said. Booths will be set up in the HRCB featuring information on each of the international programs available. Student facilitators will also be present to answer questions about specific programs. "This fair is really good timing for people looking to do a program in the fall because application deadlines are coming up," said Alyssa Child, an English teaching major who works in the Kennedy Center. Meegan Lineback, a sophomore majoring in public health who also works in the Kennedy Center, said the International Study Program Fair will be especially helpful for students who have not yet decided where they would like to study. Free hot chocolate and doughnuts will be available to any students who attend the fair.
